 COMING UP NEXT TERM...
 MAY
The Spirituality of St Augustine of Hippo
Thursday May 13th & 20th. 10.00am – 12.30pm. Led by Dr Eddie Howells, Heythrop College.
St. Augustine’s Confessions is a great Christian classic. Augustine describes his journey to Christianity in the Roman Empire of the fourth century. He raises questions about where we find God in our experience and what to make of the good as well as the bad in life’s journey.
He writes in a way that still remains accessible and engaging today. His autobiography has been more read and studied than any other in our culture for the past sixteen hundred years. It is a life-changing book.
In 2 two-hour sessions, we shall draw out some themes for discussion and reflection today.
We shall be studying Books I - X. It is recommended that you obtain a copy of the Confessions - there are many editions available e.g., Penguin Classics and Oxford Classics – and start reading, in preparation (though this is not strictly necessary for the course).
Total Cost £20
 JUNE
The Jesus Prayer
Saturday 26th June 10am – 4pm. Led by Bruce Batstone of The London Centre for Spirituality.
The Jesus Prayer is an ancient wisdom that can help us to grow in attentiveness and deepen in our prayer. It is a relevant form of help in a world of so many distractions where the request 'teach me to pray' shows a deepening thirst for things of the Spirit. In a day of practise as well as some background and reflection upon the origins of the Jesus Prayer, Bruce Batstone will attempt to introduce people to this helpful and nourshing discipline, and to encourage those who know the practise well.
Bruce Batstone is an Anglican parish priest in Camden Town and St Pancras, and is an Area Adviser for Spiritual Formation in the Diocese of London.
Cost £22.50
 JULY
